Nigel is extensively involved in global Trauma, healthcare and surgical education.

He is developing the digital delivery of training for Life+Limb / the Primary Trauma Care Foundation - teaching principles of early Trauma care in low resource settings worldwide (having previously been Chair, Medical Director, Trustee, Consultant Adviser and faculty).

​

Nigel has sat on the Trauma committee - "GACI": Global Alliance for Care of the Injured and the Acute Care Action Network (ACAN) at the World Health Organisation.

​

He is on the Faculty Advisory Board for the Faculty of Remote, Rural & Humanitarian Health at the Royal Collage of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Nigel is a member of SELF - the Surgical Educators Learners Forum: designing surgical training globally for the future.

​

He is also a member of the Oxford University Global Surgery group and the Wessex Global Health network.
